NIKE ART GALLERY

The Nike Art Gallery is a three-story building that serves as a platform for promoting contemporary Nigerian art. It is an art gallery that is one of the largest of its kind in West Africa with its main branch situated at Lekki Phase 1, in Lagos, Nigeria, and its other branches in Abuja, Ogidi, and Oshogbo. This gallery boasts of a beautiful tranquil environment where you and your partner or friends can enjoy and appreciate different art pieces including sculptures and pottery.


The Nike Art Gallery was established in 2008 by Nike Davies-Okundaye. The gallery displays an extensive collection of traditional Nigerian art like paintings, beadworks, and sculptures. By the end of this article, we hope the Nike Art Gallery will have made it to your list of places to visit the next time you crave an afternoon outing.    


Each floor of the gallery features a specific range of artworks. The ground floor boasts a wide collection of valuable textiles such as Kento, adire, and Aso-oke fabrics. It also displays demonstrations of various traditional dyeing and weaving techniques used in the creation of these textiles.


The second and third floors exhibit outstanding assortments of paintings, sculptures, and beadwork. These displays feature a mixture of both new and old art styles. The gallery also creates an avenue for learning how to succeed in the creative industry through workshops and training programs for upcoming artists and entrepreneurs.


The gallery is accessible all seven days of the week and there is no entry fee, making it easily accessible for all who wish to visit and guided tours provide extra knowledge on the history and techniques of Nigerian art forms.
